Molecular Life Sciences: Microbiology, Biotechnology and Biochemistry (MSc)

Research-oriented interdisciplinary MSc in molecular life sciences covering microbiology, genetics, molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, and structural biology, with rapid transition into research projects.

If the entrance qualification has been acquired in a non-EU country, applicants will be instructed to take an assessment test given by the faculty.

English requirements

English at CEFR C1 or higher. Accepted proof includes UNIcert III, IELTS Academic 7.0, TOEFL iBT 100 or 95 with at least 25 in speaking, Cambridge English Qualification 180, KMK foreign language certificates at C1, NULTE C1, PTE Academic 76, TELC English C1, or other equivalent accredited certificates. The faculty also accepts at least two years of relevant study or professional experience in an English-speaking country within the last six years, or a degree of at least two years taught in English.

German requirements

Knowledge of the German language is required.

Accepted bachelor fields

Bachelor's degree of 180 ECTS or at least three years of full-time study in Biology or a related field, with either at least 65 ECTS in Biology plus at least 25 ECTS in Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics or Informatics, or at least 60 ECTS in Biology plus at least 30 ECTS in Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics or Informatics. Application is also possible with at least 150 of 180 ECTS completed.
