Photonics (MSc)

Photonics is a collective term for all optical technologies, forming the basis of many industrial processes. The programme is tailored to meet the requirements of industrial and academic research and development in areas such as lasers, lithography, imaging systems, optical atomic clocks, gravitational wave astronomy, and quantum technologies.

Academic requirements

There will be a short interview at the beginning of your studies. In the interview, a professor will ask a few questions related to optics and physics. The professor will give you feedback on knowledge gaps and may recommend remedies, such as literature studies or additional classes.

Minimum GPA

No fixed minimum GPA is published on the current official programme page.

English requirements

English skills at the B2 level (according to the Common European Framework of Reference) are required. The options to prove your language skills are: Bachelor's degree in a study programme taught in English or IELTS score of 6.0 or better (equivalent tests are accepted as well).
