History & Philosophy of Science and Logic (HPS+Logic)

HPS+Logic is an English-language interdisciplinary MA that brings together philosophy, history and culture of science, and formal logic. It is designed for graduates from both STEM subjects and the humanities who want to work across the boundary between science and society.

Academic requirements

There is no restricted admission for HPS+Logic (i.e., no 'numerus clausus'). In order to study HPS+Logic, in addition to other documents, a motivational essay must be submitted in which the applicant explains why she or he wants to study HPS+Logic.

Minimum GPA

No fixed minimum GPA is published.

English requirements

The official programme information requires English at B2 level. Accepted proof includes TOEFL at least 88 or equivalent tests, and certain school-based proof such as an Abitur with extensive English study is also accepted.

Accepted bachelor fields

Suitable applicants include graduates from science, technology, engineering, mathematics, the humanities, and the social sciences.
