The Joint Master in Transnational German Studies is a four-semester European joint degree programme offered by a consortium of four universities: Universidade do Porto (Portugal, Semester 1), Université de Luxembourg (Semester 2), Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (Semester 3), and Università degli Studi di Palermo (Italy, Semester 4). Students receive a joint degree from all four institutions. The programme focuses on literary studies and cultural history, tracing humanistic connections across Europe. Instruction is primarily in German with some classes in English. University tuition and administrative fees are reimbursed for all admitted students. Scholarships covering housing and living costs are available in the first application phase.
