History and Societies of the Islamic World

Research-oriented master's programme focused on the history, politics, religions, cultures, knowledge formations, and normativities of Islamic societies from late antiquity to the present, with regional emphasis on West Asia, North Africa, and Europe.

Academic requirements

The Arabic language requirement can also be fulfilled by proving secondary or tertiary education in an Arabic-speaking country.

Applicants who did not complete a university degree at an institution where coursework was conducted mainly in English must prove English at C1 CEFR.

Requires a bachelor's degree in History and Cultures of the Middle East with a focus on Islamic Studies, or an equivalent degree in a closely related subject.
