Social and Economic Data Science (SEDS) – Master of Science

This interdisciplinary master's programme trains students to analyse data from social and economic contexts with computational and statistical methods. It combines economics, computer science and social-science methodology for data-driven decision making.

Academic requirements

You are welcome to apply in your final year of your Bachelor's programme. Please submit your current academic transcript as PDF (with an officially certified translation into English or German, if applicable).

Minimum GPA

Final grade of at least 2.7 on the German grading scale.

English requirements

English can be proven by, for example, TOEFL iBT 90, IELTS 6.5, or Cambridge C1 Advanced/C2 Proficiency with at least 180 points.

Accepted bachelor fields

A bachelor's degree in economics, political science, sociology, psychology or computer science with at least 180 ECTS and at least 50 ECTS in quantitative methods, statistics, mathematics, computer science or the social and economic sciences.
