International Economics and Management

This MSc combines international economics and management in a flexible curriculum centered on global markets, multinational companies, and international organisations. Students can shape their studies across economics and management while adding international experience through study abroad, double degrees, and an internationally diverse cohort.

Minimum GPA

Degree grade of at least 2.5 in the German system or placement among the top 35% of graduates in the comparison cohort.

English requirements

Accepted English proof includes TOEFL iBT 87, IELTS 6.5, Cambridge First Certificate grade A, or BEC Vantage level B2. German A2 CEFR is also required before completing the degree, though not for initial admission.

German requirements

Students are required to prove proficiency in German. This is not a prerequisite for admission into the programme. However, students must prove minimum proficiency at level A2 CEFR before concluding the Master's programme. Required proficiency can be acquired at Paderborn University in German courses of 240 hours in duration.

Accepted bachelor fields

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in economics, international business studies, business administration/management, or a comparable research-oriented programme in economics or a relevant field. Content expectations include 80 ECTS in economics/business administration, 40 ECTS in quantitative methods including business informatics, at least 10 ECTS mathematics, at least 10 ECTS statistics, and a 10 ECTS bachelor's thesis.
