Mechanical Engineering

Seven-semester bachelor's programme teaching development and design of mechanical systems and machinery, combining innovative technologies with mechanical engineering principles.

Academic requirements

An applicant holds an academic qualification that would enable him or her to study the chosen subject in his or her home country. International applicants who do not hold a German university entrance qualification should submit their qualifications to the 'Studienkolleg – Center for International Students' in Konstanz.

Minimum GPA

English requirements

IELTS min. 6.0 overall band score, or TOEFL iBT min. 79 points, or TOEFL PBT min. 550 points, or Cambridge CAE min. C, or Oxford Test of English at least 120 points and B2 in all modules. Native English speakers and those whose school education or first degree was taught in English are exempt.

German requirements

Basic level of German language skills (minimum A2, B1 recommended) required by telc Deutsch A2–B1 or Goethe Certificate A2–B1. Before the beginning of the fifth semester, proof of a minimum of DSH-1, telc B2, or Goethe B2 will be required.
