Digital Games

This three-semester full-time master's combines artistic and academic work in digital games. Students pursue an independent project while specializing in two of the three areas Game Arts, Game Design, and Game Programming alongside Media and Game Studies.

Academic requirements

Proof of special aptitude for the MA programme in “Digital Games”.

Minimum GPA

No fixed minimum GPA is published on the current official programme page.

English requirements

Applicants must prove English at CEFR B2. The official programme site states that English proficiency is assessed during the application phase, so an additional certificate such as TOEFL or IELTS may be submitted but is not mandatory.

German requirements

Knowledge of the German language is not required.

Accepted bachelor fields

Applicants need a completed university degree of at least BA or BSc with 210 ECTS in Digital Games or a closely related field such as Game Arts, Game Design, or Game Programming. Equivalent degrees must show substantial project-based coursework leading to playable game prototypes as well as academic training in Media and Game Studies.
