Chemistry

The M.Sc. Chemistry at Ulm University is a research-oriented, fully English-taught programme emphasising intensive laboratory work, interdisciplinary projects, and independent research within working groups. Seven specialisation areas are available including inorganic, organic, physical, analytical, macromolecular, and theoretical chemistry, as well as power engineering chemistry. The programme requires at least 85 ECTS credits in chemistry modules and 25 ECTS in laboratory work from the bachelor's degree.

Minimum GPA

Grade 3.0 or better on German scale required.

English requirements

IELTS minimum 7.0; TOEFL iBT minimum 95; Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency; TOEIC (490 listening, 455 reading, 180 speaking, 180 writing). B2 CEFR level minimum. Not required if English is mother tongue or if Bachelor's degree was taught in English.

Accepted bachelor fields

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field with at least 85 ECTS credits in chemistry modules and 25 ECTS credits in chemistry laboratory work (minimum 3-year programme).
